Western Herbal Medicine - Natural Health

Western Herbal Medicine

Medicinal plants form the basis of most medical systems around the world.

Western Herbal Medicine (WHM) has been practised for thousands of years. It differs from Western medicine in that practitioners review the whole person and their journey before prescribing and dispensing herbs and making suggestions for nutritional and lifestyle modification. A herbalist also reviews current medications and potential interactions with herbs. WHM involves the use of combinations of herbs which are tailored to the specific individual and will help to restore balance, or homeostasis. Medicines are dispensed in the form of teas, tinctures, creams or capsules with comprehensive instructions regarding constituents, dosage and frequency of administration.

Herbal medicine is particularly suitable for chronic conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, pain, type 2 diabetes, sleep issues respiratory and urinary infections.

As a NIMH registered herbalist (www.nimh.org.uk) I abide by a professional code of ethics, for an informal chat as to whether herbal medicine can help with your condition please call me.
